At least six people among them three members of the so-called Transitional Federal Government (TFG) parliament were killed in an attack in central Somali town of Dhusamareb, puppet authorities said.
Tuesday’s attack targeted a cafe where regime governors and military officials were present.
Member of the TFG Parlament Dahir Amin Jesow said several other parliamentarians and military officials were among the wounded, some seriously.
According to al-Jazeera, the Islamic Resistance Movement al-Shabaab has taken responsibility for the attack, and also for a car bomb in the heart of the capital Mogadishu on Tuesday that killed at least one man.
The group said it had killed the man in Mogadishu because he worked for the government.
However, News 19 has not been able to independently verify the report yet.
Al-Shabaab has vowed to overthrow the Western-backed puppet regime in Mogadishu.
